- BOARD FREQUENCY: 20 MHz, 25 MHz, 33 MHz, or 50 MHz

- SUBJECT: Possible IRQ12 Conflict
-
-
- PROBLEM: If the on-board mouse is enabled, there may be an
- interrupt conflict with IRQ12. This conflict may cause the system to "hang"
- or give some other type of error.
-
- REASON: IRQ12 is used by the on-board mouse but it
- does not show up as a resource used by the motherboard in the EISA
- Configuration file (!AMI64A1.CFG). When the EISA Configuration Utility (ECU)
- is used, the result may be that an EISA adapter card is configured to use
- IRQ12, causing a conflict.
-
- SOLUTION: A correction was made to the overlay file
- (AMI64A1.OVL) which is called by the Configuration file (!AMI64A1.CFG) when
- the ECU is ran. This overlay file will only work with ECU version 2.0 or
- later and consequently will only be shipped when ECU version 2.0 is
- released. Until that time the problem can be solved by running the existing
- ECU and checking each EISA adapter card and setting each to use an Interrupt
- Request (IRQ) other than IRQ12. For ISA adapter cards it may be necessary to
- change a jumper on the card in order to set the IRQ regardless of which ECU
- version is used.
-
- IRQ12 is driven by an open collector device and may be used by other devices
- if the on-board mouse is disabled in the BIOS Setup.
